There’s nothing worse than getting attached to a talent show for the judges to change up every so often. This struggle is one felt far and wide by the fans of The Voice.

Over a dozen of the biggest celebrities have taken to the coaching panel on The Voice. After nearly 10 years, fans have begun to notice that most coaches remain on the series for about two seasons. How come the turn around rate for celebrities is so high on The Voice compared to its competitors?

The Voice first premiered on 2011 featuring some of the biggest names in music at the time, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green. The lineup remained the same until season four when Aguilera and Green were replaced by Shakira and Usher. Since then, Shelton has been the remaining coach sat on the judging panel.

Shelton has since seen dozens of other celebrities coaching alongside him. The phenomenon of celebrities leaving the series after two seasons began with Shakira and Usher’s involvement. They joined the series in season 4, returned in season 6, and left soon after.

It doesn’t stop there, this was recently seen with the pop artists, Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas. Jonas began his time on the series in season 18, returned in season 20, and fully departed after. Grande then joined the panel to take his place and departed after one season.

The Voice is Too Much of a Time Commitment for Some of The Music Industry’s Biggest Names

If you look back in time, other coaches spent a similar amount of the time on the series before their departure. Since it seems to be a pattern, fans wonder why celebrities remain on the seires for a limited time. In short, it can be assumed that some of the biggest artists in the world don’t have the time to give indefinitely to the series.

While it hasn’t been confirmed, it can be assumed that Grande decided to pursue other opportunities. We think that the other coaches probably left in a similar fashion. Soon after Jonas left the series The Jonas Brothers launched their summer tour, while other artists like Shakira and Usher simply didn’t have the time to give outside of their music.

Unfortunately, The Voice coaches changing up has to do with the nature of the series. Since the series thrives on bringing some of the most popular artists in as coaches, it’s hard to maintain the panel. Most of the time, artists don’t have the time to commit to the series for longevity.

This format is truly a good and bad thing for the series as a whole. While it’s nice to see relevant artists coaching the series, it hurts to see some of our favorites go. Right now, fans are mourning over Kelly Clarkson’s departure from the series. After eight consecutive seasons on the series, Clarkson is departing with four total wins. Her most recent winning artist is Girl Named Tom from The Voice season 21.
