Rita Ora will be returning to The Masked Singer panel for Season 12 later this year, as Nicole Scherzinger sits out another season. Ora stepped in for Scherzinger during Season 11 due to a scheduling conflict.

Rita Ora Will Return for The Masked Singer Season 12

During the most recent season of The Masked Singer, longtime panelist Nicole Scherzinger was unable to appear, as she was busy performing on London’s West End in a production of Sunset Boulevard. Rita Ora — who has appeared on the UK version of the show — filled in for her.

The show has been renewed for another season, which is currently filming. It wasn’t clear at first whether Scherzinger would be returning, but now we know that Ora will once again be filling her spot on the panel.

The news was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly earlier this week, adding that the door seems to still be open for Scherzinger to return in future seasons. It’s likely that Scherzinger’s absence is once again due to scheduling conflicts, as she’s taking her performance as Norma Desmond to Broadway.

The first performances of Sunset Boulevard on Broadway begin September 28, with an official opening on October 20.

The New Season Premieres This Fall

Season 12 of The Masked Singer is expected to premiere on FOX this fall, although no date has been announced yet. Filming for the new season is happening this month, and fans can request free tickets to attend the tapings.

Season 11 of the show wrapped up last month, as Goldfish was named the winner of the competition and revealed to be High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens. Her former Bandslam co-star Scott Porter was unmasked as runner-up Gumball.
