Domino Masters aired its Season 1 finale on Wednesday night, as the Dominerds were crowned the winners. They received the $100,000 prize and the trophy. For the final episode, the teams got to choose their own theme for their topples.

Dominerds Are ‘Domino Masters’ Season 1 Winners

Dominerds is made up of twin brothers Alex Koops and Derek Koops, as well as teammate Lyle Broughton. The Koops brothers have a YouTube channel with 200,000 subscribers called DaksDominos. They made it to the finale with their creative chain reactions.

For their final topple on the show, the team chose “International Treasure Quest” as their theme. The creation involved clues and puzzle boxes that eventually revealed the treasure. The set-up even featured a waterfall of blue dominos as well as collapsing pyramids.

The complex creation ran exactly as it was supposed to, so it was no surprise that the Dominerds were named Domino Masters winners. Brains & Brawn were the runners-up, while Mechanical Mavericks took third place.

Alex and Derek said in an interview that they were inspired to start building domino creations when they saw an America’s Got Talent contestant named the Kinetic King, who created chain reactions during Season 6.

Will the Show Get a Second Season on FOX?

Now that Season 1 of Domino Masters is complete and the winners have been named, you might be wondering if the show will be renewed for a second season. FOX hasn’t announced another season yet, but that doesn’t mean the show is canceled.

Looking at the ratings for Domino Masters Season 1, they’re pretty comparable to Season 2 of LEGO Masters. Viewers hovered somewhere between 1 and 2 million each week. However, LEGO Masters performed slightly better in the 18-49 demographic.

Domino Masters‘ lead-in, The Masked Singer, has both shows beat this season with between 3 and 4 million viewers per episode, and better numbers in the 18-49 demo. But LEGO Masters is about to enter its third season, so that might be a good sign for domino fans.
