Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough is a guest host on Monday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. The dancer recalled his first appearance on Clarkson’s show and proceeded to show off a few news-inspired dance moves for the audience.
Derek Hough Guest Hosts ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’
During Hough’s first appearance as a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host challenged him to make up TikTok dances for random words such as “plunger” and “Roomba.” He had Clarkson cracking up with his ridiculous moves.
Since the world has changed quite a bit since Hough’s first appearance, he decided to update the dance moves to reflect current events. He started off with a dance called the “Britney Is Free,” in which he threw his hands into the air in excitement.
Another new dance was the “N95,” in which he mimed putting a face mask on. Then there was the “You’re on Mute,” for all those Zoom calls we’ve had over the past couple of years. There’s also the related dance, “Hey, I Think You’re Frozen.”
You’ll need a partner to perform Hough’s final two moves — the “Uncertain Handshake” and the “Six Feet Apart.” Fingers crossed he incorporates some of these dances into a future DWTS routine.

As The Kelly Clarkson Show guest host, Hough didn’t just dance. He also took over Clarkson’s interview duties, chatting with Monday’s guests, Kunal Nayyar of The Big Bang Theory fame and Titans actor Alan Ritchson.
Nayyar chatted with Hough about celebrating Diwali with his famous friends, including actress Priyanka Chopra, who just welcomed her first child with former The Voice coach Nick Jonas. Hough commented that the dancing at Nayyar’s parties “looks so much fun.”
