On Friday, American Idol Season 16 finalist Gabby Barrett released a new single called “Glory Days.” The sweet song sees Barrett reflecting on how happy she is with her current life. Barrett also posted about embarking on a new chapter in her career.
Gabby Barrett Releases New Single ‘Glory Days’
“This song is just the beginning of this next chapter of music,” Barrett wrote on Instagram when sharing that “Glory Days” had been released. The new track features a golden-hued cover image of Barrett with long wavy hair and hoop earrings.
“Got the sun setting on the grass in the yard / Got my head on your shoulder and my hand on your heart,” Barrett sings to open the track. “Watching our barefoot babies laughing and picking daisies / Catching the fireflies in a jar.”
In the chorus, Barrett goes on to sing that “this is as good as it gets,” calling it “the glory days.” The lyrics seem to refer to her life with husband Cade Foehner (who also competed on Idol Season 16) and their two children, Baylah and Augustine.

Is a New Album on the Way Soon?
“Glory Days” is Barrett’s first new original solo release since she put out the deluxe edition of her debut album Goldmine in 2021. The singer spent part of last year touring with Jason Aldean before giving birth to her second child in October.
Earlier this year, Barrett collaborated with Colton Dixon on the song “Build a Boat.” A lot of fans are probably wondering when they can hear another album from the breakout country star. It looks like that new era is starting now.
Barrett has been teasing her second album for months, as she’s posted snippets of songs for fans on social media. Earlier this year, the singer shared that the new project would feature a song written by Luke Combs and a possible duet with Foehner.
