American Idol Season 17 runner-up Alejandro Aranda had to cancel a recent show in Houston after he and his team were involved in a car accident. The singer showed the damage from the crash on Instagram and shared that everyone is okay.

Alejandro Aranda Cancels Show After Car Crash

On Sunday, Aranda took to Instagram to tell fans that his show in Houston, Texas, was canceled. He added that he and his team were preparing to travel to the city when they were “hit by someone who ran a red light.” Aranda shared that their van was totaled.

The singer received an outpouring of support and well wishes in the comments. As one user wrote, “Things can be replaced, concerts may be rescheduled, all that matters is you and your crew are alive!”

Aranda gave an update about the incident on Monday night, sharing a photo of the van he and his team were in when the crash occurred while they were on their way to breakfast. The singer wrote that they “got hit so hard we did a full 360.”

“I’m so happy and beyond thankful that we are all okay,” Aranda wrote alongside an image of his team members eating pizza in a hotel room. “Thank you so much for the positive messages and care during this time.”

The Singer Is Currently on Tour

Sunday’s Houston concert wasn’t the first show Aranda has canceled this year. In September, he shared that the remaining tour dates on his Unplugged tour had been postponed, adding, “I promise to get back out on the road very soon.”

In October, Aranda announced new tour dates, beginning in Dallas on November 25. The dates run through December 16, with stops in various cities throughout Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California.

Since finishing Season 17 of American Idol in second place, Aranda has released three albums under the name Scarypoolparty. His most recent, titled The Act of Forgiveness, came out in 2021 and featured a whopping 21 songs.
